The firm
What we are,
and what we are not.
Edgehill & Ehre is a private sales office for significant art. We handle placements entirely off-market. There are no public listings, no auction exposure and no gallery consignment.
Mandates
For sellers
We represent works and collections where public exposure is not appropriate or not preferred. The mandate covers identifying verified buyers, managing controlled disclosure and closing the transaction cleanly. Provenance documentation and legal coordination are integrated into every mandate as standard.
For buyers
We maintain relationships with sellers and advisors across APAC, Europe and the Americas. Buy-side mandates are accepted on a retained basis. Works presented to verified buyers are off-market and are not available through any public channel.
The process
-
Mandate
Terms, exclusivity and process agreed in writing before any work begins.
-
Controlled disclosure
Information released only under mutual NDA, and only to counterparties who have been verified.
-
Counterparty verification
Identity, acquisition entity and source of funds confirmed before material information passes.
-
Letter of intent
Terms documented. Legal counsel engaged at this stage where the transaction requires it.
-
Escrow and close
Funds held in escrow. Transfer and disbursement occur simultaneously. No exceptions.
Standards
- Transaction floor
The firm operates with a floor of AU$100,000. Works below this value are not accepted as mandates.
- Confidentiality
No press, no public announcement and no social disclosure without the seller's explicit written consent.
- Funds handling
Purchase funds are settled through an independent escrow agent or a solicitor's trust account. They do not pass through a firm operating account.
- Cross-border
Multi-currency structuring and facilitation across APAC, Europe and the Middle East.
- Provenance
Full provenance documentation and a certificate of authenticity accompany every completed transaction.
